ColeKhan Solicitors LLP is a start-up law firm that was formed by two highly respected female lawyers, specialising in employment law. With numerous high-profile employment discrimination cases already in their portfolio, this was our chance to create a brand that would be hitting the headlines.

The challenge

ColeKhan asked us to create a high-end brand that was modern, on-trend and equality-focused. They wanted to be able to immediately start picking up the big cases, achieve rapid growth and cause real disruption in the market. They also wanted to achieve this on a tightly controlled budget and on a tight timeline.

The solution

Our approach was to present ColeKhan as the crusading champion of the employee, fighting for their rights and empowering them in the workplace (which is exactly what they do). We moved away from ‘legal speak’ and took inspiration from the language of campaigners in the #metoo movement, Black Lives Matter and other high-profile human rights groups.

We developed a full brand DNA, including tone of voice, messaging and visual brand identity, before going on to build the website. Our designer worked using Squarespace to complete the project without bringing on-board developers and incurring the associated costs. We completed the project, from the initial brand discovery exercise to the launch of the website, in under three weeks.

The outcome

The ColeKhan launch was a resounding success. In the first month the website received around 48,000 hits. Plenty of this traffic converted into client enquiries, including several high-profile cases. According to the founders of ColeKhan, many of the enquiries they’ve received have directly mentioned the messaging on the website as being one of the main reasons they decided to choose ColeKhan.
